before I sputter out

It was rather remarkable that I survived yesterday. After days of fearing how I could possibly fit so many things into 1 day, it actually turned out really well. This included the No to Burma's Sham Elections demonstration and a mad night out for Halloween. I went as a concept rather than a character. My facepaint was David Bowie's Aladdin Sane, my tee and leggings were punk (I took the liberty to create more rips than there usually are) and grunge shoes.

So I was personifying the evolution of punk from the 70s to 80s. Doesn't really matter that no one got it, I got a kick out of it. And a few people got the Bowie reference right away; these people ended up becoming my new friends.

I watched The Social Network for the 2nd time today. The first time was the media premier, so I had the honour of telling everyone who'd listen that they had to catch it when it opened. As a testament to my own statement, I watched it again today. I want to be friends with Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin. More than friends, even.

Mark Zuckerberg is a socially inept genius. The world doesn't know how to treat people like this, but this doesn't change the fact that everyone would be a lot better off with more misunderstood Zuckers around.

I <3 Facebook. If you haven't, catch The Social Network; it's impossible to watch FB grow and not feel a swell of pride as if it were your very own.

In other news, I've finally coloured my hair again. I've got a lot of it bleached now and they're striking shades of purple, pink, and something in between. I kinda love it. It's always a good thing to have a hairstylist you can leave your hair with, despite her being armed with bleach and electric razors, and only stop to see what' going on after an hour or so.

I hope we all survive the week ahead, kept awake in our jiving, jagged minds.

<3
